• ABOUT THE CLUB •
The Hop Badminton Club is an Old Town, Swindon, badminton club that is friendly, relaxed, sociable and welcomes adult players of league standard. The Hop Badminton Club (formally known as Nationwide badminton club and then Croft badminton club) has been running for many years. Club nights are held every Monday 7:30pm until 9:30pm at the Croft Sports Centre, Marlborough Lane, Old Town, Swindon SN3 1RA. This is very close to the pubs of Old Town Swindon to be sociable afterwards.
• CLUB INFORMATION •
On the main club night (Monday) we have 3-5 courts available which means there are games for everyone. On our main match night (Thursday) we have 2-4 courts for matches and club play. The Hop Badminton Club is made up of a variety of men and ladies across a few generations of players. We always give a warm welcome to new players, especially ladies - so if you are new to the area, at a loose end on a Monday night, would like to make new friends, and can play at a reasonable level of Badminton (we can’t cater for beginners), come and join us for a game. During the summer months we continue to play badminton twice a week, which is not common within the Swindon area. This allows you to stay fit during the summer months and stops you going rusty! The Croft sports centre hall is warm with a good floor surface and plenty of parking for those who don’t walk there.
• VISITOR FEES •
First visit is free and £7.00 per visit thereafter, up to 6 visits. This would be deductible from annual subscription ( which is divided up into monthly chunks). The annual membership includes Badminton England as well as Swindon and District fees, plus all court costs, shuttles and matches. So no unexpected costs.
